Remember when I said these were almost finished last month?

I took the complete series out for a family portrait and enjoyed seeing how each piece has its own character.

Like in some families, there's an outsider, a loud one, and one that stays quiet. Some couples and some perpetually single. There's even a promising newborn!

I believe you don’t recognize many of them now, and I won't risk calling them almost done again, but they're starting to head in the right direction.

By the way, here’s an exclusive reveal:

the series will be called “Mix Tapes”. When I found the name a while ago, I knew it was the perfect match.

I recently had the chance to discuss it casually with two people and found it challenging to articulate the concepts that have been spinning in my head since I started to work on these paintings.

In short, I need to journal about where this series comes from in order to properly introduce it to the world!

By the release, I'm confident I'll be able to talk about it with clarity 😊
